    • 3 July 1942 The Tonawanda News
      Gustav J. Bartel, 66, of 1655 Ruie road, died this morning in the DeGraff Memorial hospital. He was born in Germany and had resided in North Tonawanda the past 60 years. He leaves a son, Louis, of North Tonawanda; three daughters, Margaret of North Tonawanda, Mrs. William Beutel of Sanborn and Mrs. Hubert Beutel of Shawnee; a sister, Mrs. Matilda Tessmer of North Tonawanda and a brother, William of Jersey City, N. J. Rites will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 from the residence and at 4 o'clock from St. Paul's Lutheran church in Martinsville. The Rev. F. A. Hinners will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery.
