Hubert F. Pfohl, 89, of Sanborn, NY, died Monday September 8, 2003, after suffering an apparent heart attack at home. He was born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, on April 16, 1914, the son of Anton and Elsie [ Haseley ] Pfohl, where he attended local schools. Hubert worked most of his life as a farmer, he had also been employed for 16 years, for the New York State Highway Department. He was a life long member of St. Peter Evangelical Church, Walmore, NY, where he had served as an elder and trustee. He was married in St. Peter's Church on October 30, 1938, to the former Norma A. Walck. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, especially to his daughter Karen, who predeceased him. Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Norma, two daughters, Beverly [ Charles ] Pendergast; Janet [ David ] Tober, both of Sanborn, NY; a sister, Agnes Walck, of Town of Wheatfield, NY; five grandchildren, Kristen [ Marty ] Kenny; Mark [ Nancy ] Miller; Rachel [ Daryl ] Haseley; Beth [ Steve ] Guidetti; Michael [ fiancé Lisa Rynn ] Tober; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM, Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 AM, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, with the Rev. Bruce Gamache, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
