    • Gail L. [ Murphy ] Wendt, age 66 of Sanborn, NY, went home peacefully to be with the Lord, on Tuesday August 30, 2005 surrounded by her loving husband and children, while at the CrestWood Health Care Center. She was born in North Tonawanda, NY on July 7, 1939, the daughter of Rosina Verrall Murphy of North Tonawanda, NY, and the late Bert Murphy, where she attended local schools. Gail was a graduate of the North Tonawanda High School in the Class of 1957. She had been employed in the offices of Spalding Fiber, Tonawanda; Twin-Ton, North Tonawanda; Jenss Bros., Niagara Falls; and the former Thiele's Diary, North Tonawanda, NY. Gail was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Martinsville, where she had served as President of the Ladies Aid Society, a member of the Board of Christian Education; a member of the church choir; and had worked in the School cafeteria for many years. She was an avid reader who enjoyed being with her family, going traveling and camping. Surviving in addition to her mother Rosina Murphy is her husband of 45 years, Forrest W. Wendt; a daughter, Michele (Otto III) Fetterhoff, of Mountverde, FL; a son, Timothy (Lynne) Wendt, of Grand Island, NY; a sister, Patricia Domagala, of East Amherst, NY; four brothers: James Murphy and Roger Murphy, both of North Tonawanda; Douglas Murphy of Chautauqua Lake, NY and Paul Murphy, of North Tonawanda, NY; her special grandchildren, Philip and Megan Wendt; Hans and Alexander Fetterhoff; and many nieces and nephews. The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road, from 7 - 9 PM Wednesday and 2-4 & 7 - 9 PM, Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 AM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, with the Rev. Karl Heauseler, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, North Tonawanda, NY. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Handicap Access Fund, 453 Old Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, 14120.
