    • JOSEPHINE L. STANGE
      Josephine L. Stange (Blank-Haseley), age 92, of Lutheran Manor Apartments, North Tonawanda was called peacefully to her heavenly home, at her residence on Friday, May 11, 2007 after a brief illness. Born in the Town of Niagara, NY on November 6, 1914 to the late Rudolph and Ida (Wittcopp) Blank. She earned a four year degree at a Buffalo Teachers College, and taught many years at the Nevada Avenue School in Niagara Falls and later in the Niagara Wheatfield Public School System, retiring at the age of 65. Josephine was a life-long member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church on Walmore, where she was active with the Women of the Church, taught Sunday school and on the prayer chain. She was also a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association. Her hobbies and interest included traveling, reading and music. Survivors include a step-sister, Eleanore Sampson of Reno, NV; three sisters-in-law, Erna Behm of North Tonawanda, Lillian Haseley of Sanborn, and June Camann of Bergholz; step-sister-in-law, Irlavere Tubbe; two nephews, Lester (Patricia) Walck and Allen (Diane) Walck; and 42 great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Martin Haseley and her second husband, Arthur Stange; two sisters, Evelyn Walck and Arline Walck; and a step-brother, Rev. Richard Tubbe. Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Gamaché on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. Interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
