      Long - Time Grocer Here Dies at 81
      Albert H. Grobengieser, 81, of 2013 18th St., proprietor of a neighborhood grocery and meat store here for many years, died Thursday (May 5, 1966) in Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The store he founded in 1924 is still being operated by his two sons at 1905 18th St. and is one of a dwindling number of neighborhood family grocery stores in the city. Mr.Grobengieser, whose wife Mrs. Anna Voelker Grobengieser, died on Oct 2, 1965, was born in Altamont Ill, and lived in Niagara Falls since 1903. He retired in 1954. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church at 18th Street and Cleveland Ave. for more than 60 years. He is survived by two sons Edward H. and Harold A. Grobengieser, this city; a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Helen) Hassen, Grand Island; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Heuer and Mrs. Dora Meierhans, both of Niagara Falls; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Saturday at 1:30p.m., with Rev. Theodore L. Menter officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Bergholtz. Friends may call at the Otto Radenz Funeral Home until 10:00 p.m. today.
