    • A. P. Williams Dies, Former Store Officer
A former treasurer and one-time president of Williams Brothers Department Store, Albert P. Williams, 87, of 714 East Ave., died Friday (July 13, 1962) at Mount View Hospital. He had been ill for several months. Mr. Williams was a nephew of William A. and Albert E. Williams who founded the Main Street department store. Albert P. Williams served as treasurer for many of his nearly 60 years association with the firm and was president for a brief spell shortly before he left the company in 1957. His service with the firm ended after he and two sons lost control in the firm. He and his late wife, Eleanor, lived for many years at 327 High St.. which is owned by Presbyterian Homes of Western New York, Inc., a convalescent home for the aged. Mr. Williams moved to his East Avenue home about four years ago. Born in Sanborn on Aug. 31, 1874, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Williams. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1949, Dr, Walter A. Maier, Lutheran Hour speaker, dedicated his book "The Airwaves Proclaim Christ" to Mr. Williams. Survivors include two sons, Karl D. and Ernst A. Williams; two brothers, Hugo F. and Robert A. Williams; and a granddaughter, Miss Ann Williams, all of Lockport. Friends may call at the Lange Funeral Home, 186 East Ave, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
