- Hilda L. Snyder, age 82 of Sanborn, was called to her heavenly home on August 12, 2017 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. Born in the Town of Lewiston, on February 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William and Clara (Bartel) Beutel. Hilda was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda, where she was an active mentor and leader, member of the Sanborn Historical Society, Sanborn Senior Citizens, worked as a nurses aid at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, volunteered at the DeGraff Skilled Nursing facility, and was a former EMT and active member of Tri-Community Ambulance Service, Inc. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Snyder; two sons, Michael and Timmy; and two brothers, John and Herman Beutel. Surviving are six children, Candace (Paul) Hoolihan, Cheryl Danielewicz, Barbara (Lisa) Snyder, Christine Snyder, Linda (Michael) Karp, and Matthew (Kari) Snyder; Hilda was a legend to her ten grandchildren, Sherrie and Patrick Danielewicz, Melissa (Brian) Gattie, Ryan (Marissa) Hoolihan, Christina Brown-Snyder, Joshua, Johnathan, and Zachery Karp, Samantha and Alex Snyder; six great-grandchildren, Peyton, Atlin, and Taylor Moore, Jacob Danielewicz, Finnegan Gattie, and Kolton Karp. Hilda was also loved by many special friends and children. Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Tuesday (August 15) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by both Rev. Karl Haeussler, and the Rev. Ernest Green III, on Wednesday (August 16) at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, NY 14120. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Niagara Hospice, or the Sanborn Historical Society.
