Erma DeVantier of Washington Street, a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, died Monday (Feb. 26, 1996) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. The former Erma Schimschack, 81, was born in Wheatfield and was a lifelong resident. Her husband, Norman A., died in 1989. Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Ziehm of Schenectady and Janet Herman of Wheatfield; a son, Kenneth of Wheatfield; a sister, Eunice Heuer; two brothers, Alvin Schimschack and Donald Schimschack of North Tonawanda; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Luther Street. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.

Bergholz woman was lifelong town resident
BERGHOLZ - Erma (Schimschack) DeVantier, 81, of Washington Street, died Monday (Feb. 26, 1996) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. She was born in Wheatfield on Dec. 5, 1914, the daughter of William and Hulda (Voelker) Schimschack. She was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Mrs. DeVantier is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Ziehm of Schenectady; Janet Herman of Wheatfield; a son, Kenneth DeVantier of Wheatfield; a sister, Eunice Heuer of Bergholz; two brothers, Alvin Schimschack of Bergholz and Donald Schimschack of North Tonawanda; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Vernon Schimschack, Wilbert Schimschack, Viola Schimschack and Edna Pfohl. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road. The Rev. Philip N. Sallach will conduct services at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road, and Luther Street. Interment will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield. Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.
