    Gazette caption - The Walmore Military Band shown above, was one of the finest units in this part of the country when this picture was taken 32 years ago, April 30, 1903. The members of the band as pictured above, left to right front row - Emil Hasley, Hubert Hasley, Jonus Hasley, Edward L. Hasley, Fred Schultz( now deceased), Rudolph Blank, Philip Hasley, Henry Schultz, and Alfred Walck (now in Minnesota). Second row - Edward W. Hasley, Hugo Walck, Albert Walck (now deceased), Sigmund MacKenna (leader of the band), Philip Wittkopf, Ben Walck, Gustave Mante (deceased), amd Max Hasley (deceased). Third row - Adolph Hasley, (deceased), William Schultz, and Rudolph Hasley. Fourth row - Edward Hasley (deceased) and William Blank.

    • Benjamin A. Walck
      SANBORN - Benjamin A. Walck, 88, of 2595 Lockport Road, died Thursday (Jan. 23, 1975) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. A life-long resident of Sanborn, he had operated a farm on Lockport Road for most of his life. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and had served as an elder at the church. He is survived by his wife, Laura (Wendt) Walck of this town; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Norma) Pfohl and Mrs. Herbert (Emily) DuBois, both of this town; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Allen and Benjamin C. Walck. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, with the Rev. Harold L Baum officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Association.
