LOCKPORT - A former employee of the city streets department, William E. Behrens, 69, of 389 N. Transit St., died today (Jan. 20, 1967) at the Briody Nursing Home after a long illness. A native of this city, he was born Sept. 3, 1897, son of Charles and Johanna Linderman Behrens. He had been employed by the Streets department from 1952 until 1965, when illness forced his retirement. Surviving are two sisters and one brother, Miss Sophia Behrens, Newfane, Mrs. Emma Holtz, this city Carl Behrens, Olcott and several nieces and nephews. Beginning Saturday, friends may call at the Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home where Rev. Victor Mesenbring of the Mount Olive Lutheran Church will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
