G. Sprung Retiree, Dies At 81
Buffalo - Gustav Sprung of 112 Edson St, a former Lockport resident, died Monday (Nov 1, 1968) at Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Lockport, April 21, 1887. he was a son of the late Karl and Wilhelmine Luedke Sprung, and was educated in Trinity Lutheran School in Lockport Trinity Lutheran School at Lockport. He was the husband of the late Lillie Urtel Sprung, whom he married in Lockport in1910. Mr. Sprung was employed in the old McKim Foundry in Lockport, and came here in 1911 to work at the Worthington Pump Co. In 1938, he went to work at Bethlehem Steel Co. where he was employed until retiring in 1963. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Lindner; two stepdaughters and a step-son, Mrs. Anthony Knab, Mrs. John Lawrence and Edward Mahlmeister; two grand-daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Dorothy) Kelly and Mrs. Jerry (Nancy) Widrzynski, all of this area; three sister and a brother, Mrs. Bertha Marnitz, Mrs. Minnie Kater, Miss Emma Sprung and Walter Sprung, all of Lockport. Friends may call at the Sieck & Mast Funeral Home, 250 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca, where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow. The family will be present from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Burial will be in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery, Town of Royalton.
