    "This photograph was taken In 1896 and shows the church band/male chorus of St. Jacobi church at Bergholtz, N.Y. The choir was organized about ninety years ago and is still active today. Vacancies, caused in course of time by death or retirement on account pf old age, are filled by younger musicians, often a son taking the place of a retiring father. Since its organization up to about fifteen years ago, when a pipe organ was installed, the band accompanied the congregational singing. On special occasions this band-choir can still be heard in the Bergholtz church. Some of the old fashioned instruments shown in the picture have been replaced by instruments of modern type. Theodore D. Grabau, teacher and organist of St. Jacobl's church, has been leader of this choir for the last twenty five years. This picture was taken at the Old John Mueller homestead on Mr. Mueller's 60th birthday. He was at that time a retired member. In the row standing, from left to right, are: August Mueller.       John W. Milleville, 83, died yesterday morning at his home on the Old Falls Boulevard, Town of Wheatfield. He was a lifelong resident of the town and a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Helen, nee Milleville; four sons, Hugo and Carl of the town of Wheatfield, Edgar of Marshfield, WI., and Martin of the town of Lewiston; four daughters, Mrs. Alfred Walck of St. Paul, Mrs. Edward DeVantier of Niagara Falls and Helen and Elsie at home; 32 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Ferchen and Mrs. Bertha DeVantier of the town of Wheatfield. Rites will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence and at 2:30 from the St. James church. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate. Burial will be in St. James cemetery.

      Leader in Church and Agricultural Affairs in Town of Wheatfield.
      BERGHOLTZ, N. Y. John W. Milleville, retired farmer, died in his home here yesterday morning after several months illness. Mr. Milleville operated a large modern dairy farm till his retirement a decade age. Active in the program of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mr. Milleville was particularly interested in the foreign mission work of the American Lutheran Synod. He maintained an alert interest in world events. He was the son of the late John and Albertine Krull Milleville, pioneer Town of Wheatfield residents. He was born December 22, 1861 in the old Milleville homestead now occupied by Albert Milleville in the Old Niagara Falls boulevard. He set up farming at a farm nearby in the same street. He was the husband of Helen Milleville and brother of Mrs. Bertha DeVantier and of Mrs. Auguste Ferchen, all of this community. He was the father of Mrs. Albert Walck, St. Paul, Minn.; Huge and Carl Milleville, Mrs. Edward DeVantier, Helen and Elsie Milleville, all of this community; the Rev. Edgar R. Milleville, Marshfield, Wis.; and of Martin G. Milleville, Lewiston, N. Y. He also leaves 32 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 e'clock Wednesday afternoon in the family home and at 2:30 in St. James Evangelical Lutheran church. Interment will be in St. James cemetery in the Niagara read.
