    • Son of August Walck and Emilie née Wendt. Baptized here in Sept by Rev, John Grabau. Attended Christian day School. Was confirmed Apr 19, 1903 by Rev. H. Mackensen. Was married Apr 23 (or 3? see p. 150) 1921 to Mrs. Eleanore Haseley, née Retzlaff (widow), by Rev. Ed. Grabau. Spent his entire life at the parental home. Health began to fail about 1936. Major operations in 1940 (gall bladder, appendix et. al. removed) then slight improvement. Second major operation in 1944 (part of stomach removed, internal organs and outlets - duodenum rearranged). Henceforth low vitality and inability to work. Condition became more serious in Nov. 1950, in a Buffalo hospital for 3 weeks in Dec. until Dec. 23. (Very ill not long ago and still feeble) No improvement, to Memorial Hospital in NF Feb 11, '51. Died 4:10 AM Feb 28. (Wed. in Lent.) Survivors: the widow, 3 daughters, Mrs. Marion (Arthur DuBois, Helen, Doris; three sons, Melvin, Norman, Chester; 2 brothers, Hugo and Emil; 1 sister Mrs. Wm. Lange; 3 grandchildren, Duane and Jane DuBois, and Robert Walck. Note: Chester was in armed service, was permitted to come home several times, was home at time of his father's death and funeral.

      WALCK - In Walmore. N. Y. Feb. 28. 1951. August P. A. Walck. age 61. Survived by his wife, Eleanore (sp.). Son of the late August and Emelie (sp.) Wendt Walck. Father of Mrs. Arthur DuBois, of Niagara Falls, N. Y.; Helen. Doris, Melvin, Norman and Chester, at home. Brother of Mrs. William Lange and Hugo, of Walmore, N. Y.; Emil of Niagara Falls. N. Y.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the home on Lockport road, Friday. March 2. at 2 p.m. and 2:30 from St. Peter's church. Walmore, N. Y., Rev. Martin Pempeit officiating. Interment in Walmore cemetery.
