William J. DeVantier, 71, of 10025 Lockport Road, Town of Niagara, was pronounced dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital, Thursday (Oct. 3, 1968) after suffering an apparent heart attack in his home. A native of the Town of Niagara, he was born at the home where he made his residence all his life. He was a member of Niagara Fire Co. No. 1. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran, Church, Walmore. Survivors include his wife, Frances; three daughters, Miss Virginia DeVantier, Mrs. Leonard (Mabel) Beutel of Sanborn, and Mrs. Melvin (Elaine) Pfohl of Niagara Falls; a brother, Adolph, of Niagara Falls; a sister; Mrs. Philip Walck of Sanborn, and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gerald E. Scheck Officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran, Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home Inc., Sanborn, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday.
