    • D. F. Garling Dies at 66 At His Home
      MIDDLEPORT - A retired employee of Niagara Chemical Division, PMC, Dayton F. Garling, 66, of 58 S. Vernon St., died unexpectedly Monday (March 15, 1965) at his home after a heart attack. He was born March 20, 1898, in Middleport, the son of William and Bertha Wall Garling. He had been employed at Niagara Chemical for 41 years, becoming foreman of the transportation division,,retiring two years ago. He was a member of First Universalist Church and had served as deacon for several years. He had been a member of the board of directors of the Middleport Free Library for 20 years, a, director of the Middleport Savings and Loan Association for several years and of the Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery board. Mr. Garling was a lifelong resident in this vicinity. Survivors include his widow, Inez Duwe Garling; a son, Dayton Garling, Sanborn, and six grandchildren. Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 am. Thursday, Rev. Charles J. Wood of Geneva, former pastor of First Universalist Church here, officiating. Burial will he in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery.
