    • The Niagara Gazette
      Adolph DeVantier, 87, of 9811 Lockport Road, died today (June 24, 1977) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of the Town of Niagara, he was a blacksmith throughout Western New York for over 60 years, prior to retiring in 1965. He had served as the Town of Niagara Justice of the Peace and as a trustee of the Niagara District No. 2 School. He was an exempt member of the Niagara Fire Co. No. 1 and a member of the Brotherhood of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He had celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary April 22, 1977. Survivors include his wife, Hulda Beutel DeVantier, a son, Bert of this community; two daughters, Mrs. Hugo (Lillian) Walck of the Town of Wheatfield and Mrs. Edwin (Edna) DuBois of this community; a sister, Mrs. Philip (Rose) Walck, Town of Wheatfield; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, with the Rev. Paul F. Wittenberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
