      Gustav N. Pfohl, 88, of Upper Mountain Road and formerly of Saunders Settlement Road, died Wednesday (April 22, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital. A native of Wheatfield, Pfohl was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Walmore, where he had served on various committees and as president, elder and trustee. He worked for 10 years at the former Sales Book Co., now Moore Business Forms, and then for 32 years as a stationary engineer at the Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls until he retired in 1974. Pfohl was a member of the Sanbornites Senior Citizens. His wife, Anna Mueller Pfohl, died in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Lawrence of Sanborn and Walter of Pendleton; a brother, Wallace of Wheatfield; a sister, Erna Stenzel of North Tonawanda; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Wheatfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

      SANBORN - Gustav N. Pfohl, 88, of Upper Mountain Road, formerly of Saunders Settlement Road in Lewiston, died Wednesday (April 22, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. He was bom Dec. 6, 1909, in Wheatfield, the son of Philip and Luella (Wendt) Pfohl. On June 11, 1939, he married Anna Mueller. She died in 1984. A lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Wheatfield, where he had served as president, elder, trustee and on various committees. He also was a member of the Sanbornite Senior Citizens. Mr. Pfohl worked at Sales Book, now Moore Business Forms, for 10 years, and then worked as a stationary engineer for 32 years at Nabisco, retiring in 1974. He is survived by two sons, Lawrence Pfohl of Sanborn and Walter Pfohl of Pendleton; a brother, Wallace Pfohl of Wheatfield; a sister, Erna Stenzel of North Tonawanda; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. The Rev. Bruce Gamache will conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, Wheatfield. Memorial contributions may bE1 made to St. Peter's Lutheran School.
