    • Miss Pfohl is Bride of Mr. Mervin Haseley
      WALMORE, N. Y. July 25 - A beautiful wedding was solemnized Wednesday afternoon, July 18, at 3:30 o'clock when Miss Verona (sic) Pfohl became the bride of Mr. Mervin Haseley at a double ring ceremony at St. Peter's Lutheran church, Walmore, N. Y. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pfohl and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Haseley, both of Sanborn, N. Y. The marriage was performed by the bride's brother, the Rev. John G. Pfohl, of North Freedom, WI., assisted by the Rev. Edward Grabau. O Jesus, Lead the Way, was sung by Miss Lily Haseley and Gladys Kroening. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white silk marquisette with a sweetheart neckline and a row of tiny buttons down the back, the sleeves coming to a point over the wrist. She wore a wreath of orange blossoms and a long veil. She carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses and gardenias. Her neckpiece was a gold heart, a gift from the bride-groom. Miss Eleanore (sic) Pfohl, sister of the bride as maid at honor wore a pink taffeta gown with a full net skirt. She carried a bouquet of pink and yellow roses. Miss Phyllis Walck, cousin of the bridegroom, wore a blue taffeta gown with full net skirt. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. Little Martha Haseley, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a yellow taffeta dress and carried a colonial bouquet of pink and yellow roses. Master Ronald Haseley, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Mr. Philip Haseley was his brother's best man. The ushers were Max Pfohl, Erwin Pfohl and Sergeant Louis Pfohl. The bride's mother wore a green and white print dress. The bridegroom's mother wore a blue and white print dress. Each wore a corsage of red roses and gardenias. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom. The bride's table was centered with a four-tier wedding cake. Pre-nuptial affairs held for the bride were: Variety shower, by Mrs. Sigmund Pfohl; variety shower, by Miss Eleanore (sic) Pfohl; variety shower, by Misses Phyllis and Mae Walck; variety shower, by Mrs. Jonas Haseley, by the girls of the Specialty Inspection department of he Carborundum company. Miss Pfohl was also presented with a beautiful coffee table by the Specialty department men.

      Services for Verone E. Haseley, a retired Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center employee, will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Wheatfield. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Haseley, 89, died Sunday (April 1, 2001) in Riverwood Health Care Center, Grand Island. A longtime Lewiston resident, the former Verone Pfohl enjoyed cooking and baking. She was employed for 10 years in the central services office at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was the widow of Mervin. Survivors include a son, Paul A., and two sisters, Eleonore Craft and Lizzie Pfohl, all of Sanborn.

      Verone E. Haseley (Pfohl), 89, of Walmore Road, Town of Lewiston, died April 1, 2001, in Riverwood Health Care Center on Grand Island. Born in the Town of Lewiston, New York on January 6,1912, she was a daughter (sic) of John and Eleanore (sic) (Fahrnwald) Pfohl. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Walmore and enjoyed cooking and baking. Verone was employed for 10 years at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in Central Services. Survivors include one son, Paul A. Haseley of Sanborn; two sisters, Lizzie Haseley and Eleanore (sic) Craft. She was predeceased by her husband, Mervin Haseley; two sisters, Martha Haseley, Minnie Kroening; and four brothers, Sigmund Pfohl, Reverend John Pfohl, Max Pfohl and Louis Pfohl. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz) in Wheatfield. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Gamache on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road in Wheatfield. Internment (sic) in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church - New School Fund.
