      Haseley - The death of August J. Haseley occurred on Monday, Sept. 17th, at his home at Sanborn, N. Y. He was well known in this vicinity, coming to Sanborn from Germany at the age of seven years. He was also a veteran of the Grand Army of the Republic. He is survived by four sons, Henry, Philip and Emil of Niagara Falls, N. Y., and Hubert of Sanborn, and three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Loge of Sanborn, and Mrs. Chas. Gandt of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Mrs. Wm. Broecker of North Tonawanda; also 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at his late home on Thursday at 2 p. m. and at the St. Peter's Lutheran church of Walmore, N. Y., at 2:30 p. m. Rev. Edward Grabau will officiate. Burial in Walmore cemetery.

      VETERANS FUNERAL
      Many Friends Attend Last Rites for August J. Haseley, Veteran Farmer.
      A large number of friends attended the funeral yesterday afternoon of August J. Haseley, 85 years old, Grand Army veteran and Niagara county farmer for many years, who died at his home on the Saunders Settlement road, a mile and a half east of Sanborn, on Monday. Services at the home were conducted- at 2 o'clock and at St; Peters Lutheran church, Walmore, at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Edward Grabau, of Walmore, officiating. Burial was in Walmore cemetery. The pallbearers were Milford Gandt, Frederick Gandt, William Gandt, Hubert Brocka, Wilbert Brocka and Frederick Loge.

      The Tonawanda News, 28 May 1914
      August Haseley of Stenzel street, was born in Germany on January 2, 1841 and came to North Tonawanda from Sanborn a year ago. He enlisted in Company K, the 26th New York Cavalry, on February 15, 1865, at Buffalo and served until June 28, 1865, when he was mustered out of the service. Mr. Haseley was not wounded.
